Workers’ Retention Ordinance makes it illegal for local hotels to dismiss employees in first three months after a change in ownership

At last night’s meeting of the Providence City Council, Miguel Luna (Ward Nine) introduced a resolution encouraging Rhode Islanders to attend the United National Anti-War Committee’s rally in New York City this Saturday, April 9th.

On Thursday, April 7th, six members of the Providence City Council introduced a resolution calling on Attorney General Peter Kilmartin to terminate Rhode Island’s participation in the controversial “Secure Communities” program.
