Providence City Council President Michael Solomon announced today that he plans on retaining Gary Sasse as a fiscal advisor to the city council.

On Thursday, March 3, 2011, the Providence City Council gave final approval to legislation designed to reduce the amount of pollutants released into the air during construction projects.

Council President Michael A. Solomon (Ward 5), Majority Leader Seth Yurdin (Ward 1), and Councilman Michael J. Correia (Ward 6), along with four other councilors, are calling on Public Safety Commissioner Steven Pare to keep several positions in the police department unfilled.

Providence City Councilman David A. Salvatore (Ward 14) will hold an open community meeting on Monday, February 28th at 5:30pm at the Wanskuck Library, 233 Veazie Street.
