Councilman Seth Yurdin | Ward 1
Seth Yurdin was first elected to represent Ward One of Providence in 2006. Seth was re-elected in 2010 and 2014. He represents Fox Point, Downtown, and parts of the Wayland and College Hill neighborhoods.
During the 2011-2015 term, he served as Majority Leader of the Council and was Chairman of the Committee on Ordinances.
Seth has pushed for more open and transparent city government and continues to advocate for neighborhood quality of life, the environment, public health, and public education.
Prior to his election to the Council, Seth was a Fox Point Citizens Association board member, monitoring the I-195 development and encouraging community participation in the planning process.
Seth is a volunteer shelter manager, including with the American Red Cross’s response in Mississippi immediately after Hurricane Katrina, and with the Providence Emergency Management Agency.
Seth attended Boston University and New York University School of Law. He is an attorney in private practice.
