Biography

Councilman Nicholas Narducci was first elected to the Council in 2006, and re-elected in 2010 and 2014. He represents the North End, which includes the Charles neighborhood and a segment of the Wanskuck neighborhood.

During the 2011-2015 term, he served as Deputy Majority Leader and was Chairman of the Committee on Claims and Pending Suits.

Councilman Narducci’s priorities on the Council include: making our neighborhoods safer places for all to live; and addressing important policy issues, such as education, tax policy, and government accessibility. Additionally, he has served as a Council designee on the Board of Park Commissioners, the Providence Housing Authority, and Providence Redevelopment Agency.

Councilman Narducci is a lifelong Providence resident who has been shaped by his background, experience, and values. Raised in the North End by his parents, Nicholas Sr. and Shirley, along with his six brothers and sisters, he learned the importance of family, respect, and helping those in need.

As a young man, Councilman Narducci was influenced by his family’s love of politics. His great-grandmother (born in Italy) would write and translate letters into Italian for local politicians and his father ran an unsuccessful campaign for representative, but that didn’t stop him from helping anyone he could. These powerful role models instilled a love for public service in Narducci at a young age.

Councilman Narducci and his wife, Valerie, have been married for more than 30 years and have have two grown children: Nicole and Nicholas III.

An active member of his community, below is a summary of Councilman Narducci’s civic and volunteer activities:
