Councilman Nicholas J. Narducci Jr, Senior Deputy Majority Leader | Ward 4

Thank you for visiting the webpage of Ward Four, representing the North End neighborhood. I am pleased to offer this site as a resource to the community members of our ward and the city as a whole.

My staff and I are available to answer your questions and to help resolve any problems you may have.

Councilman Nicholas Narducci is currently serving his third term representing the North End of Providence, where he was raised and currently resides.  Narducci is a lifelong Providence resident from a big, Italian family dedicated to public service. From a young age, Narducci’s background instilled in him the importance of family, respect, and helping those in need.
In his Council role, Narducci’s priorities include making our neighborhoods safer places for all to live and addressing important policy issues, such as education, taxes, housing, and government accessibility. In his ten years as Councilman, he has advocated for neighborhood improvements and developed relationships with stakeholders and constituents to deliver greater services to Providence communities.
Councilman Narducci continuously works to improve the quality of life and recreational opportunities for Providence families. He has leveraged federal CDBG dollars to build new playgrounds, redevelop neighborhoods in distress, and support vital community agencies that provide services to Providence residents in greatest need. As Councilman, he has championed for two new playgrounds at Prete Metcalf Field and Ascham Park and the re-opening of the swimming pool at the Providence Boys & Girls Club. At the Chad Brown housing complex, he provided funding for two new water parks, basketball court renovations and security lighting.
Councilman Narducci has assisted numerous housing initiatives and recently worked with the North End Housing Authority, the DaVinci Center, and SWAP to leverage funds to build and redevelop abandoned properties on Greeley Street. He has also provided CDBG funding for many community programs at the DaVinci Center and ReFocus, and helped ReFocus secure a new location at the former CVS/Highlander building.
With support from the North End Community Action Committee, Councilman Narducci hosts numerous events each year to serve Providence families in need. Together, they have delivered over 700 Christmas toy and clothing packages, 850 Thanksgiving food baskets, and 1,300 Easter baskets to Providence families. Narducci also hosts an annual food and toy drive to benefit 60 families in Chad Brown each year.
Councilman Narducci currently serves as Vice Chairman of the Committee on Claims and Pending Suits, and is the Council designee on the Board of Park Commissioners. He also serves on the Committee on Public Works, the Special Committee on Education, and the Special Committee on Municipal Operations and Oversight.
Councilman Narducci also serves in numerous civic and volunteer roles, including coach and president of the North End Wanskuck Little League, fourth degree member of the Knights of Columbus, and parishioner of St. Agnes Church. He is also a former coach of the North Providence Jets.
A family man at heart, Councilman Narducci and his wife Valerie have been married for 34 years and have two grown children, Nicole and Nicholas III; a son in law, Ian; a daughter in law, Christina; and a granddaughter, Emma Lacey.
